What Cash-In-Transit is
Cash-In-Transit is one of the other services listed under GTBank personal banking. It enables GTBank account holders to send money to friends, family and other beneficiaries who do not have a GTBank account. Rather than requiring an account number on the receiving side, the funds are made available for collection at a Guaranty Trust Bank branch.
- For GTBank account holders sending funds
- Beneficiary does not need a GTBank account
- Funds collected at a Guaranty Trust Bank branch
How the service works
Customers initiate the transfer themselves on the secure GTBank internet banking platform. After logging on to the Internet Banking page, the customer clicks Payments and then selects Cash-in-Transit or Draft-in-Transit. The beneficiary is then paid at any Guaranty Trust Bank branch.

Security notice
GTBank publishes a notice across its services pages warning about fake sites run by fraudulent parties posing as Guaranty Trust Bank Ltd or its affiliates. Customers are advised not to disclose personal information or financial details to anyone online or elsewhere. As Cash-In-Transit transfers are initiated through internet banking, the notice applies to customers using the service.
