How an entry is made

  1. Reading. A crawler reads an organisation's own public website, honouring its robots.txt. Sites that ask not to be crawled are not catalogued.
  2. Extraction. Facts stated on those pages — what the organisation is, what it offers, published prices, related organisations — are extracted and recorded against the page they came from.
  3. Checking. Each draft entry is scored on how complete it is, how well sourced it is, and how well it connects to the rest of the catalogue. Entries that do not clear the bar are not published.
  4. Rechecking. Published entries are revisited against their sources on a schedule, and each one shows the date it was last verified.

What we do not do

  • We do not invent facts. Prices and other details are recorded exactly as the source states them — in the source's own currency, never converted or estimated. Where we have no evidence, an entry stays silent rather than guessing.
  • We do not bypass restrictions. No paywalls, no logins, no CAPTCHAs, and no crawling of sites whose robots.txt forbids it.
  • We are not affiliated with the organisations listed. An entry is not an endorsement, a partnership, or an official statement by that organisation.

Accuracy, and how to correct an entry

Information changes, and a source can be misread. Every entry names the pages it was compiled from and the date it was last checked, so you can always go to the original. The organisation's own website is the authority — if the two disagree, believe them, not us.

If an entry about your organisation is wrong, out of date, or you would like it removed, contact us and say which page is affected. Corrections and removal requests are acted on.
