What the Software Collection is
The Atlassian Software Collection is described as an AI-enabled system for every software team, intended to help organisations improve productivity, culture and code. Atlassian positions it as the AI-native SDLC, covering measurement and improvement of developer productivity, software quality and team velocity. It is one of five collections listed on the Atlassian homepage, alongside the Teamwork, Strategy, Service and Product collections. Collections are presented as curated Atlassian apps and AI agents on a secure, compliant and reliable platform.
Included products
Four products make up the collection. Rovo Dev provides agentic AI for developers, DX measures productivity and AI impact, Pipelines handles CI/CD, and Bitbucket covers source code management. Atlassian's product listing summarises the collection as "Ship high-quality software fast".
- Rovo Dev — agentic AI for developers
- DX — measure productivity and AI impact
- Pipelines — CI/CD workflows
- Bitbucket — source code management
How it works across the delivery lifecycle
Rovo Dev works across Jira, VS Code, the CLI, Bitbucket and GitHub to streamline the SDLC, letting teams run builds with natural language, validate pull requests, troubleshoot pipelines and automate code reviews. DX is presented as developer intelligence for the AI era, measuring developer productivity and supporting the shift to AI-augmented engineering. Pipelines builds CI/CD workflows where the code lives, with AI assistance for fixing broken pipelines. Bitbucket covers planning through to production with built-in AI, CI/CD and a Jira integration.
- Natural-language builds and pipeline troubleshooting
- Automated code review and PR validation
- Developer productivity measurement with DX
- CI/CD without context switching
Stated outcomes and focus areas
The collection page groups its benefits under improving developer experience and reducing risk. These include automating repetitive coding tasks, status updates and documentation; surfacing context for developers; guiding teams toward engineering best practices through centralised orchestration and AI-powered suggestions; and giving a full view of developer experience to identify friction. Customer quotations on the page describe moving from one monthly release to 10–20 production deployments per day and reducing average development cycle time from 5.8 days to 2.9 days.
- Reduce friction across the SDLC with AI
- Surface context where developers need it
- Improve engineering standards
- Full view of developer experience
Rovo Dev status
Atlassian has published an update stating that Rovo Dev is reaching end of life as a standalone product, with its capabilities moving into eligible Jira subscriptions and Rovo. The Rovo Dev product page describes code planning, code generation and code review capabilities, available in the command line, in Bitbucket Cloud, in GitHub and in the IDE via VS Code. Rovo Dev is built on Atlassian's Teamwork Graph, pairing Atlassian's data intelligence layer with frontier AI models, and Atlassian states it respects user permissions.
- Code planning, generation and review
- Rovo Dev CLI for the terminal
- PR review and build troubleshooting in Bitbucket Cloud
- VS Code and GitHub integrations
Purchasing and getting started
The Software Collection page carries a contact sales call to action and an FAQ covering what is included, how to get started, whether other apps are required, and whether apps can still be bought individually. Atlassian states that other apps are not needed in order to purchase the Software Collection, and that all apps included in the collection remain available for individual purchase. The page does not list prices.
- Primary route: contact sales
- No other apps required to purchase the collection
- Included apps can also be bought individually
