Programme and event calendar

The site functions as an open source community events calendar, listing conferences with their dates, host cities and registration, sponsorship and schedule links. Events can be filtered by name or topic, by event category and by country. Recent and upcoming listings cover kernel and embedded development, observability, databases, security and agentic AI. Some events are held in person, some virtually and some in hybrid form, such as Linux Plumbers Conference in Prague and virtual.

Attendee policies and code of conduct

The Linux Foundation and its project communities state that they are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for participants at all events, whether held in person or virtually. The code of conduct applies to members, speakers, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors and booth staff, and registration or attendance indicates agreement to its terms. Harassment in any form is prohibited, and wearable recording devices, including camera-equipped smart glasses, are not permitted whether or not they are actively recording. Reports of harassment are addressed immediately, and responses may include providing an escort, contacting venue security or local law enforcement, and briefing key event staff.

  • Applies to in-person and virtual events
  • Non-negotiable and revisable by The Linux Foundation
  • Wearable recording devices prohibited
  • Incident response includes escorts and security contact

Speaker and travel support

Each event publishes a speaker guide covering registration deadlines, audio-visual requests, slide submission and presentation formatting. Speakers receive complimentary registration, must supply their own computers and adapters, and are asked to format slides in 16:9 using a conference-branded template; rooms include a screen, projector and two microphones. Schedules are published through sched.com, where speakers update profiles and upload slides. The Linux Foundation issues visa letters on request after registration, processing most requests within three business days, and requires submission no later than two weeks before the event; a visa letter does not guarantee approval.

  • Complimentary registration for speakers
  • Slides in 16:9 with branded template
  • Schedules hosted on sched.com
  • Visa letters processed in about three business days
  • Visa letter requests due at least two weeks before the event

Hotels and onsite resources

Venue and travel pages list contracted room blocks alongside alternative lodging options, with rates, cancellation terms and walking distances to the venue. The Linux Foundation notes that it never telephones attendees to make hotel reservations and advises booking through the direct link or by calling the hotel. Event resource pages point attendees to the schedule, onsite resources such as reserved seating and all-gender restrooms, and emergency resources. Venue sustainability information is also published, for example Fira Gran Via's use of renewable electricity and rooftop solar panels.

  • Contracted room blocks with published close dates
  • Alternative hotels listed without guaranteed rates
  • Onsite resources include reserved seating and all-gender restrooms
  • Airport, metro, bus and parking guidance per venue

Participants and programme committees

Linux Foundation events are described as working conferences intended for professional networking and collaboration within the open source community. Programmes are shaped by volunteer committees drawn from industry; the ValkeyConf programme committee, for example, includes engineers and advocates from AWS, Apple, Percona and Braze. Attendee lists published before events show registrations from a wide range of organisations: BazelCon 2026 draws software engineers, build and infrastructure engineers, DevOps and developer experience professionals, architects and technology executives. Individual events also run hands-on workshops and poster sessions alongside their main schedules.

  • Programme committees of community contributors
  • Published attendee organisation lists
  • Workshops and poster presentations at selected events
  • Sponsor listings for each conference
