CNN describes its staff as truth-seekers and storytellers — journalists, designers and technologists working to inform, engage and empower audiences. The organisation states that any use of AI, generative or otherwise, must adhere to CNN's values and must not undermine audience trust in its journalism, with accuracy and fair representation as the top priority. Employees retain oversight and responsibility for the AI systems and tools used and the content they produce, and CNN says it clearly signifies to audiences when they are seeing, hearing or reading AI content. Due diligence is applied to internally built tools and potential partners against both CNN and Warner Bros. Discovery AI principles.
